The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Merit Deputy. Applicants with a current ILEA Tier I Basic Academy certification may receive preferential employment consideration. The application deadline for this position is August 25, 2023.
The initial phases of the Merit Deputy Selection Process are described below:
Phase I – Written Examination: Saturday, September 9, 2023 (Time to be Determined)
Phase 2 – Physical Abilities Testing: Saturday, September 23, 2023 (Time to be Determined)
ILEA Entrance Standards
Test: Vertical Jump Standard: 13.5 Inches
Test: One Minute Sit-ups Standard: 24
Test: 300 Meter Run Standard: 82 Seconds
Test: Maximum Push-ups Standard: 21
Test: 1.5 Mile Run Standard: 18 Minutes, 56 Seconds
ILEA Exit Standards
Test: Vertical Jump Standard: 16 Inches
Test: One Minute Sit-ups Standard: 29
Test: 300 Meter Run Standard: 71 Seconds
Test: Maximum Push-ups Standard: 25
Test: 1.5 Mile Run Standard: 16 Minutes, 28 Seconds
Applicants submitting a timely application and meeting the eligibility requirements of the position will receive an invitation email with specific information regarding these phases of the selection process.
Phase 3 – Sheriff’s Merit Board Interviews: Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday September 27, Thursday September 28, and Friday September 29, 2023.
Applicants successfully completing Phases I and II will receive an invitation email with specific information regarding this phase of the selection process.
